28 month boy doesnt talk at all, I dont think he understands much of anything yet either?

It seems like it just clicks for every other parent but I'm getting no where with it and I dont seem to be doing anything that supposedly helps him.

He seems to know to wave when I ask him to say 'bye bye', and waves at people passing by that are coming or going, other than this he only makes sounds, usually just to himself unless we copy him then we'll repeat sounds back and forth.

I try to read to my son but he seems more interested in turning the pgs.

I can't get him to try sound out any words, his pediatrician doesnt say much except at his 2 yr check up told us that he might be autistic and gave us a referral.
